Southwestern Turkey Burgers
The colors and flavors of the Southwest warms our hearts and whets our appetite. This new recipe made with delicious antibiotic-free Respect™ Turkey Burgers is sure to delight your family. If you are looking for a grilling recipe for entertaining, we recommend giving these a try!
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 large onion thinly sliced
- 2 poblano peppers seeded and thinly sliced
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 4 Respect™ Turkey Burgers
- 4 brioche burger buns
- lettuce or spinach leaves
Heat a sauté pan over medium heat. Once hot pour in oil and let heat up.
Add in garlic and onions. Let cook for about 5 minutes then toss in poblano peppers and season with salt, pepper and chili powder. Let cook for another 5 minutes.
Reduce temperature to low.
Heat grill to medium-high. Lightly grease grates.
Grill turkey burgers for 4:30 minutes per side.
Add buns to the grill to toast.
To create your southwest turkey burgers, add a layer of lettuce or spinach leaves to the bottom bun. Top with the burger then onions and peppers. Cover and enjoy!
Additional topping ideas: avocado slices, tomato slices and hot sauce.
